How do I replace the drive sprocket on my Homelite 240 chain saw?
I replaced the drive sproket on my Homelite 240 chain saw, but when I try to tighten up the retaining nut, the clutch slips and prevents me from tightening the nut.
What I have done is to take out the spark plug and push a piece of clean rope thru the spark plug hole into the combustion chamber. This will keep the piston and crankshaft from moving so that you can tighten the nut on the clutch to factory specifications.
