sorry, I got mixed up on the side of the boiler. Left hand side of the boiler as looking from the front, just above the mini expansion vessel. There is also a filter in the pipework make sure this is clean also.

sounds like flow valve fault, not sensing water flowing through boiler. Flow valve located on pipe on the r/h side of the boiler. Usually starts by rattling first before failing alltogether.
