My clock chime 6 minutes before the hour and quarter and so on, what can I ?

Mu clock chimes 6 minutes before the hour and quarter hour and so on. What can I do to get it to chime on the hour

Hi Pat,
The minute hand on your clock has prbably slipped on its collet. The only real repair is to remove the hand reposition it on the collet and re-rivet it.

explain this to me how can a STOPPED clock CATCH TIME UP ?

When the clock strikes move the minute hand to the correct position hr or half hour stop the clock wait while the time catches up, and then restart the clock it will work correctly.
