Mend Whirlpool AWM5145 Washing Machine Spin Cycle Resetting

Whirlpool AWM5145 not cleaning clothes properly?

The machine is running the spin cycle before the wash cycle so the clothes are coming out only spartially clean and very wet. It is as if the machine is out of sync and needs resetting? Any advice?
