Mend Onan ZX390 Hot Problem Model

My onan 14 h.p. engine gets hot and stops running. What is the problem?

The Oran 14 h.p. model ZX390 113170 will run for about 2 hours then it pops a couple of times and dies. If I let it sit for about 20 minutes it will start and run. Is it the coil? If so where is it located and is it hard to replace.
