how can I disable imobiliser renault megane?

I have a 1998 R Megane, the imobiliser is broken and I want to disable it so that I don't have to scrap it.

I have heard that you have to remove the 8 pin plug?! I think i read that it was white! I am having the exact same problem at the moment but I have no idea where or what this 8 pin plug is!
