How do I fix my Ignitor on Parkinson Cowan gas cooker?

My Ignitor button has stopped working on my gas cooker. It is not mains supplied so I am presuming it runs off a battery. I have taken the front off the cooker and removed ignition, but could not find where the battery is. I have lost me instruction manual also.
Please can anyone help.
