Dyson vacuum cleaner switch?

A second cyclinder Dyson has broken on me 3 years old - the switch will not push on (usually clicks)

I have taken the switch casing off and there's no obvious way to see whats broken. Spring intact etc. I note new Dysons ahev a different switch.
