Take the rear panel off the dryer and remove the drum. This will make it easier to access the motor and tensioner. I found it easier to lay the dryer flat on it's face so you're looking down into the dryer.
The belt tensioner has two hooks at the base which fit into slots in the base of the dryer. The slots are almost directly under the motor pulley. When it's in the tensioner pulley will be to the left of the motor pulley (looking from the rear of the dryer). Hook the spring to the flange attached to the tensioner. The other end of the spring hooks over a plastic switch which is mounted to the base of the dryer to the left of the tensioner (looking from the rear of the dryer). This plastic switch has a groove for the spring to hook into.
Replace the drum.
The belt now goes around the drum.
Loop the free end and push it through the tensioner under the pulley. Push the tensioner to the right untill you can hook the belt over the motor pulley. Let the spring pull the tensioner back into position and that should do it.
Reassemble the dryer.
