John Deere 826 Snowblower Tecumseh Engine. Why won't it start?
When I remove the sparkplug and lay it on the engine connected, it will spark. I also primed the engine with gas through the spark plug hole. It has electric start but will not fire at all.
My understanding was that as long as you have spark and gas, then it must start. Please help me. Thanks.
I'm asking because I have a similar problem with the exact same machine..No spark

There is a shutoff under the gas tank. check it oout

I just saw this and I assume you already have it under control but wanted to mention that you also need compression to go along with gas and spark. You should be able to borrow a compression tester from AutoZone if you have one in your area.
