Mend Challenge 2200 Washer Reservoir Water

challenge pressure washer not sucking from the reservoir ?

I have a extremely challenge 2200 pressure washer. It has stopped sucking water out of the reservoir at the back. This may be linked to the lance. The lance can be turned to change jet to spray but not pulled in/out. Could it have rusted? Do I need to replace the whole lance? Do stores stock this so I don't have to send off to somewhere? Any ideas........thanks

not a frickin engineer, i just want to clean my patio.......
