407 sw rear wiper removal?

Hi, my 407 SW rear wiper spindle needs to be stripped but I can't get the plastic cover housing the nut and rear window release switch off. I have tried prying it off, but it is very secure and I don't want to break anything. can anyone offer any advice please? Thanks, David.

*Alt; To remove the plastic round lid that covers the nut you need a narrow flathead screwdriver or similar. If you lift up the glass so you can see underneath the casing you will find a small plastic pin penetrating down. Place the screwdriver in here and push/ lift the pin up and the lid is lifted up perpendicular to the glass.

The next step is to release the wiper spindle itself as it has partially seized. The nut on the glass mowed just a little both ways, and I was afraid to break the glass, maybe threads were links? Or maybe a small lockring must be removed?

For others that are interested, to remove the plastic casing that covers the nut you need a narrow flathead screwdriver or similar. If you lift up the glass so you can see underneath the casing you will find a small hole. Pushing the screwdriver in here releases a catch on the cover and you can lift this up parallel to the glass. I found it easy to loosen the nut but am now stuck as to how to remove the arm to oil the mechanism. Any help appreciated!!

Thanks very much for the posts. The motor is fine and not actually attached to the rear window, there's a remote linkage which drives the wiper. The problem is with the actual wiper spindle itself as it has partially seized. The plastic housing which covers the wiper blade securing nut needs to be removed to allow access to remove the assembly. How does this housing come actually come off, is it a matter of brute force, or is there a special technique?

sometimes these are very tight, just have to bite the bullet, and go for it, you could always get another one from the scrappy.

hope it helps

Is the plastic cover over the nut like a cone shape? Try a spray of wd40 on it, it wont hurt plastic. Are you taking out the complete motor? You will need to take the inner tailgate panel off too.hope this helps. If not post again.
