I have a DysonDC01 cleaner which is sparking from around the on/off switch. I need to get at the switch, but cannot see how to remove the swich or co housing. Any suggestions please?

Remove the cylinder completely, and at the top where the two lugs that hold the cylinder in place you will see a torks (sp) screw inset into a plate, remove this screw and plate and it exposes the whole switch assembly.

You dont need to take the switch of with the DC01.All you need to do is on the main handle (where it says dyson in black bold letters) there are 2 clips at the top.Release them and you can get into the back platel where the switch is.Unscrew the screw and your in.I just did it and one of the wires was split.Rewired it bob's your uncle.
