how to open my mitre saw, performance power 750w?

just bought a mitre saw but it looked and now cant get it to open, iv tryed pressing the red button on the side of the handle but still wont open. it works perfect apart from that.

The button on the handle is for the laser guide. To open the saw there is a red knob on the stock, pull it out slightly and turn it backwards 45 degrees.
