keeps cutting out Honda GV100?

forums sugest cleaning the carb, and replacing the spark plug even if it looks ok, My GV100 fitted to a lawnmower ran for a minute lacking power and eventualy would cut out, only starting if left for a minute. Eventualy got worse only running for 10 seconds! Tried everything. Eventualy found it was low compression due to worn head gasket and streatched head bolts. The gasket looked not too bad but it was too thin and the bolts were damaged and too long causing one to feel tight when it was not actualy doing anything!
