if it is under one year old, it is under warranty, the suppier should arrange to have it repaired, failing this it falls under the sale of goods act 1979. ring me

To answer resetting a PC. Go into the BIOS Settings and reset them and then reinstall the Operating System (Windows?).

I'm not sure what you mean by broken nor by: "through no fault of my own". Do you mean physically broken? If so that is unlikely to happen spontaneously. The latter could mean that someone else broke it.
If you or another person didn't physically break it, take it back to the retailer and get it fixed or replaced.
