How can i fix a soot filter in renault megane, 1.9?

if the (DPF) light in the dash has come on , take the vehicle for a decent run where a cruise speed of 50 mph can be maintained for 5 -10 miles ish to burn the particles OFF, you are doing a lot of short journeys to cause this light to activate.
