renault megane convertible 2000 1.6 16v?

hi u was driving along fine then all of a sudden had a splutter then the engine cut out stop light and service light come on and engine cut out I looked under the bonnet and the alternator belt had snapped and broke 2 wires leading to what i think is a fuel filter just behind drivers head light I've reconnected theses wires and put a new belt on but car wont start checked all fuses and they are ok there is fuel being supplied engine also have tried diagnostics which is saying no faults and also tried fuel cut off switch can any 1 help
