pwc-water in engine compartment?

i have 10 month old waverunner. the last month i have been getting about 16 oz. of water in the engine compartment. when i first got it it did not do this. is this normal? what should i do about it? can this cause alot of damage? i usually ride in salt water. i ride a yamaha 2009 vx cruiser. where do you think the waer is coming from? someone told me that water in the area can cause alot of damage. it is always about the same amount in the same location.
