Mend Peugeot 306 Air Con

peugeot 306 air con?

hello,my 306's air con does not work,light comes on when button pressed in but no drop in revs,does this mean the compressor is knackered or does it just need regassing,any help would be most helpfull,cheers jason .the model is a 1400 lx on a v plate
