turns out my liquid soap has been causing problems
found this stuff - new from america , i got mine on ebay

hi ya i has the same problem my brother fixes washing machines try putting in in a boil wash and add some household bleach it works a treat... hope this helps u like me :)

Try adding a tablespoon of bicarbonate soda and 2 cups of white vinegar, then put it on to a rinse only cycle.
