Mend KitchenAid Ultraquiet III Dishwasher Filter Cleaning

How do I get the filter out from the bottom of the tub to clean?

I want to clean the filter in the bottom of my Ultraquiet III dishwasher. I can take the arm off but I can't seem to get the filter out so I can clean it. I lost my manual and I don't know how to get another. Can you help with both?
