My 2005 Renault Megane was making a noise from the passenger door and the window only goes up and down a couple of inches at a time...if at all.I have managed to get it up (good luck I think) and now the car won't start at all.I get a service message saying "steering locked" or "steering unlocked" -the steering is actually not locked as I can turn the wheels. The immobiizer light is permenantly flashing. When I put the key card in it's place and press brake and start I just get the message and nothing happens. Has anyone any ideas or had this total shutdown problem in combination with a window problem?Any suggestions would be great.
Renault has admitted they have big problems with window regulators and are changing them under warranty, my wife has a 05 plate megane that has had 4 regulators changed in 6 months (no i am not joking) speak to your local Renault garage and ask to speak to Renault UK window regulator and loom is approx 350 pounds, dont let garage fob you off

has putting the window up with the problem blown a fuse? - or find an independent mech with the equipment to talk to the cars computer, should not cost to much to check this, then decide best way foward from there.
