What is wrong with my tv?

We were watching tv then there was a loud popping noise no sound and no picture. We checked the breaker circuit and it was fine. Behind the tv was very hot. Do not want to throw out. Can it be repaired.

A "popping" sound may have been a capacitor exploding - they do from time to time - well some of them do. The fault may well be in the area of the internal Power Supply.

Yes your TV can be repaired - cost may be another matter - yellow pages may point you in the right direction.
