Indesit H563 Cooker Hood recycling instead of extracting?

Hi,
The above has been installed incorrectly, how can I change it to extract air rather than recycle ? It has no carbon filter so just blows smokey air round my kitchen whe its switched on.
Im withholding funds from the kitchen installers for other mistakes so they are refusing to turn up.
