Mend Lights Started Today

abs and esp lights?

i started my car up today and both the ABS and ESP lights came on what can cause this and can i drive it safely whilst i book it into a garage

The car should be safe to drive. The brakes will work as normal but the Anti Lock Braking system is disabled, so under extreme braking on a poor surface the car will be difficult to control.
Basically, drive sensibly (as you always should!) and you'll be fine.
