my golf 1.4 stopped keeps turning but not firing?

while driving my golf the engine management was flashing,this then proceeded to stay on until the car stopped, she was running uneven while this was happening,she turns over lively enough but no firing up (1.4 petol) 52,000 miles

Crankshaft sensor and/or Camshaft sensor, the only way to find out is get it connected to a code reader find the fault code and repair/replace as required
