changing a diverter valve?

My Alpha combi boiler only supplies hot water when the heating is on - does this mean I neeed a new diverter valve and are they difficult to fit?

This sounds more like a flow-switch (I believe these have Albion diverters, which have a flow switch attached to the diverter)...

Yes, they are moderate to change, the most difficult bit is getting them to re-seal after the work is completed.
