Mend Creda TVU1 Dryer Switch

How can I fix my Creda Simplicity Dryer Model TVU1?

All of a sudden will not turn on - I can hear the timer when you turn timer switch round but when you press the start button nothing happens? Any ideas would be appreciated before I have to buy a new one! Thanks very much.
