there is an arch of blue some times green or red in an arch form around both sides and the top of my tele. It is a sharp 32lw-92h (according to the instructions anyway) I would like to know how to sort it. Also would a playstation being used on it have anything to do with causing the problem?
Colour purity error, is usually a very minor repair and due to the failure of a small part called a 'positor' (or thermistor).
However, the part is usually safety rated so still requires replacement by a service engineer.
Otherwise, large loudspeakers in close proximity to the TV or any other item with powerful magnets or items generating magnetic fields can cause colour purity errors.
Very rarely, extreme physical shock to the TV (eg. dropped) can warp the shadowmask of CRT televisions and cause permanent purity errors requiring tube replacement. (In 25 years as a service engineer I've only seen that once).
If the problem only occured after moving the location of the TV, it will normally correct the problem itself after a short period.
Using a playstion on it would not cause the fault. However, it may appear more obvious when viewing playstation due to the more regular and intense graphics that it displays.
