Mend re master plug timer Going Turn Setting

re master plug timer?

I am going away on holiday and want to set my timer to turn on a lamp in my absence. After setting and plugging in do I leave the lamp switched on or off and do I leave the switch on the plug in on or off position?

if you don't leave BOTH the switches ON the light will NEVER WORK
