Do you have any warning lights on? as it would seem that the engine ECU has gone into protective "limp home" mode, you will need to get it connected to a diagnostic code reader and have any fault codes fixed then the ECU can be reset and you should have a car that drives normally, any good independant garage or tyre & exhaust place will have the required kit to do this, normally they charge £25~40 to read the fault codes then you have the cost of putting right any problems that it shows up
