Mend Craftsman 316.745400 Trimmer Electric Repair

Craftsman electric trimmer/blower weedwacker?

My craftsman weed wacker, model 316.745400 gets electricity but won't spin the round metal part where the plastic string is.
This is the easiest weed wacker I have ever threaded and I don't want to get rid of it. Sears, who has evidently partnered with K- Mart, would not take it in for repairs. I have no clue what's wrong with it.
I would appreciate any and all suggestions . Thanks.
