You just wind the line onto the spool.
Or buy a new spool made by ALM Manufacturing 01423 797208 part number BD139
Available from Homebase, Focus any hardware shop or garden centre.

Most of the line breaking problems with this model are solved by replacing the cap

having exactly the same problem, can'tfind any links to user manual either. Mine machine breaks the link after a very short time and auto feed doesn't work any help appreciated
