whirlpool washing machine won't fill?

I discovered my Whirlpool washing machine was plugged into a power outlet that has a short in it. This caused the machine to stop in the middle of a cycle. Now, even after plugging it into a different outlet, the washer will not fill. There is no "reset" button. It thinks its still in the middle of a cycle. No matter where on the dial you set it to, it will simply spin as if it is the final spin in the cycle. I've even let it finish spinning to see if it would then start at the beginning of a new load, but no luck. How do I reset the timer/programmer?
