How to change belt in tumbler dryer ?

I removed the back plate panel, lifted the top of the dryer off, and removed two small screws to release the chasis panel. That's as far as I got until I could not remove the chasis away from the back of the drum to get at the belt. I'm afraid to disturb the gas hook up. Where do I go from here?
