Mend Ford Mondeo V6 Ghia Auto Gear

Overdrive light flashing?

Hi, I have a Mondeo V6 Ghia Auto and the overdrive light flashes intermittently when it flashes the gear changes are very jerky, when its off it changes fine, the oil level is fine and still nice and red, Any ideas anybody?
