Mend Ford 2005 2.4 di Transit Fuel Van

changing the fuel filter?

I have tried to change the fuel filter on my 2005 2.4 di transit van and for some reason i cannot get the new one all the way on to lock it? I have tried everything I can think of but it will not go all the way on, I tried to put the old one back on but that was the same - help what am I doing wrong?

Look on the top neck of filter there should be three different size stand proud squares.These can only locate one way into filter housing,feel inside filter housing before you fit filter and you will feel recesses that these squares locate into,it can only go on in one position good luck
