Most Tdis seem to have the waterpump driven off the cambelt. If the pump leaks or worse, seizes, then it is probably not a good plan to change it yourself unless you intend(and are able) to change the timing belt. If the pump is really noisy or leaking badly, then get the belt done at the same time-believe me it is a false economy not to do the belt. The bad pump could also seize and chew your belt and eat your engine at any time, so I would fix it as soon as you can
