Mend Peugeot Speedfight 2 100cc Starter Fine

starter pinion for speedfight 2 100cc?

ive just drowned my starter pinion in wd40 as it was seazed. it all loose and fine now. my question is:

do i need to cover the starter pinion in grease and put grease inside it where possible to prevent it from seazing again or could this damage it?

yep as m says they get tired as the springs weaken ,lubing t will just make the rubber dust from the drive belt stick to it.

quite pointless, really there not greased or lubed in any way new, so simply just replace it, chances are its a bit lazy, if you look for one its known as the bendix gear
