DISC STUCK?

I've been thru the 897 Q/As myself now and here's some results which I aim to try but can anyone say what the risk is of having the laser fry your eyeballs.These are all quotes, some edited a bit.

1 "If its not under garantee then unplug the unit and remove the screws for the top case. Pull the rear up first then pull out.Using a small screwdriver take off the metal plate on the dvd drive and take it out.If still under garantee using a paperclip lengthen it out and slide it into the bottom of the dvd player draw on the right and push the gear until it comes out then you can pull it all the way.



2 "push ‘stop’ & ‘eject’ at same time (jvc)

3 "Panasonic “with player on, hold ‘rewind’ ‘pause’ & ‘open/close’ at same time then turn player off for a second – then back on and press ‘open/close’ .


4 "Turn off at mains for 10+ seconds. Turning on again puts it in standby –press ‘eject’ button first. If no go,UNPKUG, take off top cover and remove plate so u can release manually


5 “Large cap in power supply can hold charge for up to a week so STAY CLEAR”


6 “Most players have two screws holding down a plate right across the DVD. Take them out and lift disc out BUT some…are one solid piece so carefully press down on DVD to knock it off the top then eject it. Player can be on but must be on ‘STOP’ to stop it from trying to read disc.


7 "Did u put two discs in?
