why does the dipped headlight or tail light not come on when i start the bike,switch to main beam and both headlight and tail light work

I have the same problem
my rear light/dash lights/headlight
does not come on when the bike is running but my indicators and horn still work my headlight was coming on but only when on full beam.

I would suspect a dodgy switch on your handlebars. Get your wd40 strip it down and give it a clean. Be careful when stripping down a few fiddly bits that are easily lost
