when you turn key on ignition your imobilizer would have turned the fuel pump on and you could hear the pump motor each time you ignition was turned on but the key is unique to that bike and only that key will allow the bike to start the bike,i e allow the fuel pump to activate, without the original key or reprogramming another key for that bike ecu, the bike will never start even if ignition is forced with a screwdriver or removed completely, hope this helps,ps you need a ignition that is programmed for your key or a completely new key and ignition which will have to be reprogrammed to your ecu, which is not cheap, use a anchor point in the ground with a chubb padlock and thick chain then your bike is not going anywhere.
