why does the srs light stay on?

plugs under seats.....usually yellow in colour
disconnect them...spray wd40 or something similar in them...and plug & unplug a few times....
should remedy the fault....common problem on all rover range

If you have had your battery disconnected that may have caused your problem,it will need the airbag ecu resetting.Of course you may still have a fault with the airbag system.Also,check the plug connection under your front seats as these sometimes have a poor connection and can also be damaged by putting things under seats.I have known pets to chew the cables! To get it reset you will have to take the car to be plugged into a diagnostic machine,most garages will be able to do that for you.
