skagen watch with mesh strap, how to fix small links that are broken?

I have a skagen watch with metal mesh straps, some of the small links are broken causing pointy bits of metal to stick out and snag on my clothing. can this be fixed and how? I tried to bend the metal back so it shouldn't stick out but that doesn't seem to work. thanks,
