Check the simple stuff first, like making sure you actually have power at the outlet. Plug the PS2 into another outlet just to make sure. A common problem on this model is that the power plub itself develops a cold solder joint on the main board and must be taken apart and resoldered. Try to wiggle the power cable and see if the red light comes on on the front of the console. If it comes on when you wiggle the cable, then you definitely have a bad solder joint at the power plug terminals. Repairing this problem is cheap. AZtech at aol.com
