Mend Gear Changed Gearbox

Putting Gear Box in Neutral?

I changed the 3 belts and put everything back together, however, everything is in NEUTRAL...manual says to align shifter with gearbox so that the gear box is in neutral....just how do you align the gear box into neutral??? Thank you.

What machine is this this? most machine just have a belt fron the crank pulley to the gearbox pulley, if there is sufficent tention on the belt it has to work, i have never heard of aligining the belt whilst in neutral
