Mend Craftsman 917372480 Pull Mower

Craftsman eager-1 super pull light 5.0 starts up and then stops?

Can you tell me what is wrong with this mower because it starts up runs a second or two then stops. Oil and gas levels appear adequate. Adjusted side lever (choker/throttle?) but does not seem to make a difference. Ocassionally ran better but stopped last week.

when the cover is off on the throttle linkage, theres a spring and a small bar with a loop that attaches to the spring, if that gets bent toward the block, the engine won't keep running. try bending it a little bit out, and try starting it. that's what fixed mine from this condition.

B sure your fuel is fresh- best if under 1 month old. If so, you may need to remove the carb bowl and clean the main jet in the bowl nut and clean the bowl.
