l have a 03 plate freelander td4 automatic the engine will not turn over at all it just (clonks once ) when trying to start the battery and starter are both ok.
The clonk is probably the starter trying to turn over the engine. Bad battery, bad earth, bad live to or on starter or bad starter. An inhibitor switch fault would not get the clonk. Oh and also the engine could be seized.
