I am not getting any hot water from my boiler when i put the on demand switch on. If i put the Heating and water on together i can get hot water but it is fluctuating, hot then goes cold,and hot again.

Could be a thermistor//The 240 is knocking on now and the secondary heat exchanger on these is renowned for scaling up//get an installer to look at it//cut your losses and fit an HE boiler(Worcester 24i or similar)

sounds like two faults, try replacing the diverter valve diaphragm, its the cheap repair, but it sounds as if the plate heat exchanger, may be scaled or sludged up as well, hopefully a new diaphragm sorts it
